This particular #8 is for the mid frame four inch double action revolver, the L signifies that the holster is lined. Bianchi holsters usually features a suede lining, which is easier on the blued revolvers. The # 8L is one of my favorites for the mid frames, in placing the gun close to the body and high on the ride. After going through the first loop on the holster, I run the belt through my pants loop and through the other holster loop. This provides more stability with the heavier mid frame, while the suede lined #B9 pistol belt minumizes holster shifting. This holster is compatable with both the S&W and Colt . The earlier versions were manufactured with the exposed trigger guards, the newer versions have the trigger guards covered, and both feature the thumb snap strap release.
