Academy had a sale on the Crosman 1377c. This is a multi-pump pneumatic pistol. It shoots well with 3 pumps, but without modifications can take up to 10 pumps. I thought: how can I lose for 50 bucks. The trigger was terrible, much worse than my Beeman P17, which is a single-stroke pneumatic. After polishing the hammer, sear and trigger, and replacing the sear spring with a Wolf spring, it is now much better, and I did get the dang thing back together. Now for some upgrades: No. Quantity Order no. Name UP VAT Discount TP 1 1 piece CTKIT Crosman replacement adjustable spring sear & trigger kit £29.00 2 1 piece bb13xx Brass Breech Kit £49.00 3 1 piece BBB1377 Barrel Band 1377 £30.00 4 1 piece ssbs Stainless Steel Breech Screw Slot Head These were ordered from www.gmaccustomparts.comIf you do the math, it comes to almost $200 with the shipping. I have yet to order wooden grips to replace the stock plastic and new sights. I haven't decided what I what yet. I'm thinking that it wouldn't be too hard to spend $500 on upgrades if you replace the barrel and piston assembly too.

The grips arrived from RB Grips and look good. I also ordered grips, at the same time, for my Crossman 2300S.
I decided against changing out the barrel for the Lothar Walther until I do some accuracy tests, which I can't do until the scope arrives. I had ordered a Williams open sight, but they were backordered so I went for the handgun scope.

Is that going to be used for wet ops against toads and frogs? ;D
Have you posted pics?

Callahan, I only use an air pistol on toads. The frogs always jump into the swimming pool. Then I have to either wear them out and scoop them out with a net or crush them with the pool brush.
Today was disappointing. I ordered a Weaver Classic 2.5-8X, 28mm variable power pistol scope and a RWS lock down scope mount from Midway USA. They arrived and the scope will not fit into the fixed rings - it is too short. So I'm going to need to go buy rings for it.
I don't plan on ever using it on toads. Since one of their favorite places is by the pond, which is an integral part of the pool, I have to walk around on the boulders that make up the sides of the pool. Although it hasn't happened yet, I could easily fall into the pool - not good for an air pistol. On the other side of the pool are two flower beds, one of which has roses. One day while brushing the pool, I lost my balance and fell into the rose bushes. I was wearting shorts. I will never wear shorts again when I am anywhere near the rose beds.
I'll take a picture of it when I get the scope mounted. Hopefully some time this week.

Cool. Sorry to hear the parts didn't work out. That can be irritating.

DA, the one I got from MidwayUSA has integral rings, which is what the problem is. I picked up Millet rimfire rings today, and hope to get it mounted tonight if I get everything else done. Right now I'm waiting for my wife to give me something I need to take to Fedex to overnight. While at Academy I saw the LULA M1A loader reduced to under $7, so I snatched one of those quickly along with a couple of boxes of .308. I want to clean/oil the M1A SOCOM tonight and shoot it tomorrow if I make it to the range. Oh, here is the picture of it:

Crap, I know this is thread drift, but I'm a little licked: I just read the owners manual for the M1A SOCOM 16 and they said to only use 7.62 NATO ammo because it has a heavier primer and will prevent slam-fires. I have 308, so I guess I won't be shooting this tomorrow.
Plus, after picking up my watch at the jewelry store, $695 before sales tax, I find that my everyday working in the yard watch died.
I should have spent my time mounting the scope on the 1377.
Modified to add: I should have stated that the $695 was to have the dang thing repaired. I think that is more than Rolex charges for their "tune-up".
When I bought the watch, I told my mother over the phone that it was a Cartier. She siad: " Never heard of it. Honey, you should buy a Timex, they are really good watches." I replied: "Mom, I can't afford one." I told my brother, who said: "The sad thing is: she probably believed you."
May she rest in peace - I think I'll buy a Timex tomorrow for working in the yard. I know, I know, I'm a nut, but I have to know what time it is because I HATE being late for anything - even a dentist appointment.
