I got an e-mail this morning from Sig Sauer announcing their new MK25. Since I haven't bought any guns this year, ;D it was a great surprise to see something new from Sig Sauer.
Wait, haven't I seen that anchor on the side before? They had a Navy Seal P226 awhile back that had that anchor.
Oh no, if you zoom in on that picture, it says P226 on the slide and on the grips. On closer exam, this is just another marketing trick by those sleazeballs in Exeter, NH. H&K has their MK23, so since the P226 Navy wasn't selling, they renamed it to try to suck in the gullible. For once they missed me, and they have ticked me off again. There won't be any new Sig Sauers in my stable for a long time.
Yup, think I'll pass on that Ruger too. Wait, I just looked at their web-site www.ruger.com/products/sr22Pistol/features.html, and they say that it has a light double-action and a crisp single-action pull. I'd really like a light single action.
Crisp single action trigger and plastic parts seem mutually exclusive to me. Perhaps the fire control mechanism is all metal though. Can't tell from the picture. At least they improved on the pot metal slide of the Walther/Umarex to an aluminum slide on the Ruger.
