I got to shoot a Henry Golden Boy (HGB) at the range today. The owner had done a trigger job on it, and the trigger was really nice. Much nicer than my 9422 or my pump-action Henry. My pump's trigger is creepy.
The big deal with the action. It was so smooth and light. I was amazed at how good the action felt. The problem I had with it was the sights. It has a very small gold dot front sight and it was difficult for me to focus on it vs on the target. I shot okay with it, but he shot exceptionally well. I don't do as well with a scope on my Ruger 22 as he did with regular sights on his HGB. Maybe I should lay off the coffee before going to the range. ;D
I'm going to have to do some trigger work on my 22's, but I have other work to do before I get to them. I went to the Military Gun Supply yesterday, but I'll start another thread.

I looked up the Henry Repeating arms website. I'd like to get a Winchester 9422 and a Henry .22 lever rifle side by side.

Well, I shot the 9422 last week and the HGB this week, and I'll tell you - I like the Henry. I've very impressed with them and with their responses to my questions.
Where the Henry's need improvement is with their triggers.
