Hey I get to be the first person to put something on this portion of our board. I mentioned on another thread that I was a sucker for older rimfires, so I thought I share. from top to bottom: Glenfield Model 75 (made by Marlin) with the original scope (3x as I recall) Winchester model 290 with a 3-9x Bushnell scope, the original is a 3x and packed away somewhere. These two are my pest control guns, and plinkers. I usually shoot the Glenfield better, but that may be because I've had it longer and shot it more. Lastly is a Springfield model 83 single shot,(made by J Stevens). The Springfield is the first gun I ever shot. My grandfather used to take it squirrel hunting and literally shoot the eyes out of the squirrel. If I only I were half as good a shot as he was... They all get shot, and shoot very well. I've been contemplating an old Mossberg or H&R for the collection this year....

I just picked up a older Anschutz Rimfire rifle this evening. Its the 614 model I believe with a new BSA scope on it as well. The scope hadn't even been sighted in yet. It has a 5 shot clip as well as a 10 shot clip with it and is in mint shape. I figured $200.00 was too good a price to let it slide bye me. Took less then 45 minutes to align the scope on it. These are a precesion rifle for sure and the bolt action is nice and tight on this one.

I still have my first rifle, given to me by my father when I was about 10. It's a JC Higgins .22 bolt action, I believe it's made by Marlin, but I can't recall. Still love to shoot that thing.

For some strange reason there is NO listing of this rifle on there under the Model of No. 48. J.C.Higgins guns were made by various people thru the years including Mosberg,Hi-Standard, Marlin and more. All of the listing go to 46 and then jump up to a model 50 next for J.C. Higgins. Yours still looks to be in very decent shape and a lot of fun to shoot as well.

Well, I posted that based on an archival picture I happen to have here at work. (I have photos of all firearms in case of loss from theft or fire.) I'll have to take a closer look at it when I get home. Maybe it is a 46, the picture of that one isn't very good. I appreciate you looking into it though.

Yes please get me any info you can as I would be glad to do this for any member on any make or model that they own. If its listed on there I can find it and let them know who produced it. Sometimes its interesting to know the actual history behind a certain gun.

The mother load has landed again with the store keeper having 4 guns instead of 3 as he thought. One is a Marlin 30-30 Winchester style with a tasco scope on it and would rate around a 80. One is brand new in the original box which is a over and under 12 gauge from Marocchi in Italy. I believe the model is the Francarm as its all scrolled and in silver. Its brand new and I don't think ever fired. There is also a I believe Marocchi model 64 semi auto in 22 cal with a small tasco scope on top. Finally there is a 410 shotgun in a single shot from Brazil but I haven't really checked it out as yet. Total price was $400.00 and I ran away from the store with my goods. Right place at the right time They all appear to be virtually new and I know have been in his basement for at least 30 years now. I will be on the sell to-night at the club as I don't shoot skeet or trap but this 12 gauge should sell for a hefty profit I strongely suspect. The 410 is chambered for the 3" sheels no less.

I have taken the pics but am NO good at posting them at all. Older eyes and bad paws do not make a good combo. Fired 3 of them to-day but cannot fire the 22 as there's No mags for it as yet. They all 3 fired very well even after sitting all these years. The best part of shooting them was a friend of mine gave me the ammo for all 3 for free as he dosen't have any of these cals at the moment.

I have a very weird thing happening with this Marocchi rifle, I sold it to a fellow member at the club after he and his 12 year old son put around 150 rounds thru it it turned into a automatic weapon on them. It started by shooting just 2 rounds at a pull but by last night for me it was up to 3 rounds and more. For me thats a problem here as its not legal to have. I wonder if there's any adjustment on the Marocchi SM64 models which are a 22 cal rimfire rifle?

Could it be a stuck firing pin?

I have written a few people around the world on this one including in Switzerland fellow owners and Italy- Marocchi themselves where it was made. I have a suggestion that maybe try higher output ammo so far. It was Fed 36gr stuff I was useing so I will step up to the higher 40gr and see what happens. Yes it would be fun to play with for a while but my butt is also on the line for it as well. I actually ejoyed the feeling of having a auto while I could. Kinda neat really. Just aim and spray the target aye.

To-day I tried the 40gr CCI ammo and it went into full auto mode on me. 2 pulls and 10 rounds were gone in about 2 secs. Definitely fun but not a keeper for sure due to the legalities involved. Its back in the safe for now until I figure out the next move with it. I'll just take my Annie woodchucker to the range when I want to do some plinking with a rifle. Sold my Marlin 30-30 to-day as well to the fellow who returned the Marocchi. Allowed him what he paid for the Marocchi and he is happy. So is my pocket needless to say as this was totally clear profit as it was one of the 4 I picked up recently for $400.00.

I figure you've tried/considered most of these but here's my .000002 for internet diagnostics: Have you played with the barrel depth at all? Is the holding screw still tight? Is there much play between the barrel and the receiver? You've tried high velocity ammo, have you tried standard velocity ammo? The bolt, receiver, chamber etc, etc are all clean?

Everything seems to be within proper tolorances. The only thing I can think of is possibly the main spring is getting weak or stretched. Yes I have tried both 36 and 40 gr ammo with no difference at all. I have given it a complete and thorough cleaning but will do it again as this gun did sit for around 25 years. I have written Marocchi as well and am awaiting a reply from them. This gun was made probably around 1980 and has a very good German Barrel on it with a Anschutz design behind it as well. They are all handmade apparently by Marocchi them selves with the exception of the barrels so there is very good quality in it.

I wrote to Marocchi in Italy who made this gun and they have replied with a staement that they knew about this problem years ago now. AS of this morning They are sending me a box of all kinds of parts including the new one that I need which is too short in this gun for FREE. The rest of the parts are because they know that this gun is discountinued and will be very hard to get parts for so they are making sure I have lots for years to come as a gift from them. I am very impressed with them needless to say with their kindness considering this gun is around 30 years of age. THey still make some very beautiful shotguns and have been since around 1922. This should be a heck of a great shooter when it is fixed as it has a German made barrel and some other high tech parts in it as well.

Wow, that is some really great customer service. Glad to know that they are so responsive. It is also interesting that they knew about the problem. It sounds like the sear isn't resetting properly.

Thats what I now suspect as well but won't know for certain until the parts arrive and I have it torn down. I am probably the last customer to reply to them regarding this issue as it was stored for around 25 years. There was a wee bit of packing grease still in the breech area when I got it as well so I know it was hardly ever fired. To me they are one heck of a good company to do what they are doing for me on this matter.
