MLB; This reminds me what happened in Great Britain and Australia a few years ago.

Ahhh, my friend you don't have enough experience with Chinese made products. ;D
I don't consider this a great loss. Their weapons are not "export quality" (a term I learned to understand while living over there).
They will use the metal to make something more useful than their weapons.
While I was on vacation in India two years ago, we did some site-seeing. Some of the places we visited had "armed" guards. You would not believe the weapons they had. They looked like something from the 18th century. Thinking about the fact that India is a nuclear nation, it was quite a contrast.

TMan; I have never had much use for the Chinese knockoff firearms, such as their version of the AK-47 and the 1911.

DA, they make some decent knock-off Rolex's. Mine is now over a year old and is still working, and I wear it everywhere (except to church - wife!): I even wear it to the range.
However, I can easily tell it isn't real, but a jeweler was showing his fake that came from Japan. It was all stainless, and I could not tell it from the real thing.
Like guns, they may look good on the outside, but on the inside there are differences. My real Rolex keeps good time. The fake doesn't - it gains about 5 minutes per day.

DA, that brings back memories: it was almost 20 years ago and my wife and I were shopping at the Galleria in Dallas. We went into the Cartier store and I ended up with a Cartier watch that cost me $2500 (now $6800).
I was telling my mom about it and she said: "Honey, you really ought to get a Timex, they are really good watches". I replied: "I can't afford one."
When I told this to my brother, he shook his head and said: "What is sad is: she probably believed you."
