Actually it was better than a gun: it was the first time in 20 years that I had my daughter with me for father's day.

However, I finally got a Springfield EMP and should be able to pick it up at the dealer's tomorrow afternoon. According to UPS the dealer signed for it this afternoon.

TMan, Your really going to like your EMP. I purchased one a year ago. It's just the right size for the 9MM. I wrote up my experiences with the gun on the PROGUN board. It fits my average size hand great. Be sure to read the instructions as it has a spring lock needed for disassembly. Can't beat the 9 plus one in a slim package.
I hope you like yours as much as I enjoy mine.

I was away visiting family on another relative's recreational farm. Got to go shooting, and take my son, nephews, and niece shooting too. One nephew wanted to shoot an M1, he was suprised at the recoil and how heavy it became when shooting standing. He didn't shoot that as much as he thought he would. He did have fun opening the spam can of ammo for it though. He had a ball with the semi auto .22, until it got so fouled that it didn't feed well anymore. I had almost as much fun watching them all shoot as I did shooting myself.
Lots of good food and laughs all weekend. So the short answer is, yes, I had a good dad's day....and I remembered my dad too.

I was away on a fishing trip for the past week, and my kids squirreled away handmade cards in my pack so I'd have them on Sunday. Blessed to have great kids.
