This holster was once manufactured by Bernes Martin, and it was called "The Lightning", named so for the speed of the draw from a concealed position.Bianchi purchased the design from Bernes Martin to continue it's popularity. This holster is designed to accomodate the snub nose revolvers. The retainment is from an outer spring around the entire length of the gun, from the rear site to the muzzle. The spring applies pressure to where the cylinder is captured and released when the gun is pulled out of grasp when deployed. Clint Eastwood wore one of these in the movie "The Gauntlet, and Steve McQueen also wore one in the movie "Bullet".
