Thought DA might like this discussion, or at least the topic of altering the lockup time on a 1911 by altering the firing pin. Sounds goofy, but after reading it a bit, makes a little sense. handgunforum.net/showthread.php?p=194546#post194546I've posted a link to the discussion since I know that I'd botch the description.

"The EGW oversize pin stop will increase your lock time a millisecond or two." Thanks ML; When I have trouble with the firing pin stop, I turn to the EGW Over Size Stop. The first time I had any trouble with stop, was with my Colt Combat Commander. The Pin Stop would drop down on recoil, causing the slide to be locked behind the hammer. The bottom photo shows what I'm talking about, it also shows something else. EGW Over Sized Firing Pin Stop
If you will; Take a closer look at the bottom of the EGW Stop, and Now Take a Closer Look at the Pin Stop at the one at the bottom. EGW Stop isn't called "Over Sized" for nothing, the surface of the hammer has to be fitted to that portion of the Stop. The EGW Over Sized Firing Pin Stop One My Colts Does it account for "Lock Time ?" Only if you're counting your beans and you're very fast on the target. ;D
