I've lost track of two things: 1) how much I ahve had to drink this evening and 2) how many 380's I now own.
Today I shot the DB380 and I am so impressed. It has a DAO trigger that is oh so smooth, and I was amazed at the accuraccccccy and lack of felt recoill. Screw this, I'm going t o bed. ;D

Why do I have such a headache this morning? From the manufacturer's web-site: Becky, sportingarms.com, sells this particular model for $346, but the no frills model is $310. Compare the cheapest model to the Ruger LCP at $287. You may find one cheaper somewhere else, but I wanted to compare prices from the same dealer. So the DB is $23 more than the LCP. I am a Ruger fan, but in this case, the DB is so much better a pistol when it comes to shooting it. Like the Kel-Tec PF-9, the Ruger LCP lets you know that it went bang. I have a friend that always shoots his with a glove. Prior to shooting the DB380N for the first time, I shot the Walther PPK/s, also in 380. The recoil was definitely noticeable, but the Walther does lock back after the last round. After 10 rounds through the PPK, I decided that I needed to go ahead and shoot the DB. "This thing is light - this is going to hurt." Long, but light for DAO, trigger pull and it went bang. No pain - no discomfort. Another club member and I examined the gun and he concluded it was the shape of the backstrap. I'm thinking it is more because of the fairly heavy recoil spring. The pistol is very Glock'ish in the way that the striker is pre-cocked by pulling back slightly on the slide. On the negative side: my fingernails are very thin, and I have to keep them short or they will split. Trying to field strip the DB is a real chore for me because you have to pull down the little pieces of plastic on both sides while pulling back slightly on the slide. Speaking of the slide: it is a long ways away from my hand. I wanted the Micro Desert Eagle, but one look at the slides proximity to my hand was enough. I don't enjoy stitches. I just thought of something: I went to check to see if Gunblast had done a review, and they had. So I won't say anything further other than: if I was Consumer Reports, I would rate this gun a "Best Buy". www.gunblast.com/Diamondback380.htm

Interesting.
That pistol is made in Cocoa, Florida, the same city as Kel-Tec. I wonder what the back story is on that? Part of the company, spinoff?
I looked at Gunblast. Very nice sights. The quality looks very good overall.
