Another "proprietary cartridge" aka wildcat with a little more popularity. The 22TCM shoots a 40gr bullet 2000fps. Sounds kinda like the little FN speedster, 5.7x28. The difference is that the TCM looks like it can be made from .223brass. The pistol is a hi-cap/widebody 1911made by Armscor under the Rock Island Armory name. (18rd capacity) From the reports I've read, the grips are pretty cheesy, but they are working on different ones. (being the widebody, they are not interchangeable with standard 1911's) Fortunately, RIA is offering the gun as a package with a 9mm bbl as well. That way if the TCM tanks, and you don't reload, you still have a gun you can shoot. Ammo is commercially available, $20/50. dev.rockislandarmory.com/index.php/pistols/22-tcm

Hmmm, so if it comes with a 9MM barrel, I wonder how well the fit is between the 9mm barrel and the slide. Is there a serial number on the slide that matches a serial number on the barrels?
So how long will the 22TCM cartridge be available? This was a real concern with me when FN came out with the Five-Seven. I probably wouldn't own the Five-Seven and later the PS90 were it not for the fact that I won the FNP-9 in a drawing and traded it in on the Five-Seven.
What I noticed was after BO was elected and there was a run on guns and ammo, you had a hard time getting 45ACP and 9MM, as well as others, but there was never a shortage of the FN 5.7 ammo. Also, as prices sky-rocketed, there was little change in the price of the FN ammo.
I wonder when you change out the barrel, do you change out the recoil spring too.
