Why do I hear this sucking sound when I go into a gun dealers?
I went in to pick up my Colt Peacemaker. This was the Talo special royal blue edition with Wiley Clapp's initials as part of the serial number.
She was busy. I thought having a roving eye when it came to women and cars was bad. Hmmm, some new S&W boxes; I wonder what is in the boxes. Whoa nice:
SKU: 108411
Model: SW1911TA
Caliber: .45 ACP
Capacity: 8+1 Rounds
Action: Single Action Only
Barrel Length: 5" / 12.7 cm
Front Sight: Tritium Night Sight
Rear Sight: Tritium Night Sight
Overall Length: 8.7" / 22.1 cm
Weight: 41.5 oz. / 1,176.5 g
Grip: Wooden Laminate E-Series™
Frame: Stainless Steel
Slide Material: Stainless Steel
Finish: Satin Stainless
What you don't see in the picture is a full length guide rod. The other thing you can't tell from the picture is the trigger pull. Extremely crisp, and it feels light, but I don't have a trigger gauge (all my tools are still in storage). It also has an external extractor.
I think this is the first S&W 1911 that I've bought. I'm just kind of surprised that it didn't come out of the Performance Center. Of course had it done so, it would have probably cost $1K more.
As a point of interest: Becky did get a Ruger SR1911 in while I was in India and she sold it to another of the club's Range Officers. Its okay I guess because she made profit on it, and I've known and liked him for a long time. He is one of the few people that I've met over the years that can actually out-talk me. ;D Last I heard he had 12 Ruger 22LR pistols, but that was a couple of years ago. No telling what he has now.
I know, I know, JMB would roll over in his grave if he saw that ugly rail hanging off the bottom of the dust cover. It also has "Caution- capable of firing with magazine removed" on the left side of the rail. I hate lawyers (and the EPA, and OSHA).
