....I'm not a shooting instructor of handguns, by any means, but I have found out which works best for myself. .....One the most important things for me is a a low bore axis, which equates in the middle of the bore placed above the firing hand as you maintained your grip. This also places the bore in close proximately and alignment with your shooing arm, which greatly reduces recoil, muzzle flip, helps improves accuracy and the control of the weapon, from one shot to the next. This holds true with other pistols & revolvers, with me. ..... Remember this; Using a High Grip equates to bringing the Shooting Hand Closer with The Axis of The Bore. If it is done right, it will be like pointing your index finger on the target. .....Many of us might already know this, but for others, I thought this bit of information might be helpful. The Ed Brown High Ride Grip Safety ....Perhaps the most ergonomically designed pistol in The History of This Nation, is the 1911, which gives reasoning and logic why so many manufacturers relies on it's popularity among shooters and enthusiasts . Because of it's Low Bore Axis, the 1911 pistol is my choice as the yard stick to which all others are measured by. The up swept beaver tail safety also adds to the pistol's ergonomically design.

Come out of the dark ages. The 1911 is a 100 year old design. My daughter is here with a friend of hers. I'm taking them to the range in the morning before I drop them off at the Gaylord Texan for their weekend conference. Her friend has never shot before. I'm starting her on the Ruger 22 Mark II competition that MLB talked me into years ago. Then I'll move her to the UZI in 9mm followed by the Pardini GT-9. The Pardini is in 9mm which makes recoil lighter, it also has a weight reduced slide. Obviously, the less weight you have banging against the frame, the less muzzle flipl you will have. Modified to add: Psst, I bet I pushed somebody's button with that 100 year old design crack. ;D

Yes it is but still a great design tho. I reall njoy shooting mine when I get it out of the safe which seems not too often lately. I have a bunch of semi wad cutters to use up which I do not like at all is probably the reason why.
