I've read that "springers" require special scopes because the recoil is in the opposite direction than normal recoil. However, with a PCP rifle, wouldn't a regular scope work?

OK, I'll be the dummy; What does PCP stand for?

Makes me feel a bit like TMan; having guns that I didn't know about. ;D In my defense, the last air pistol I bought was purchased when I was about 14.
Back then, they just called them "bb-guns". Whoda thunk 30 or so years later they'd be benighted with such a title as requires an acronym.

Really, I thought the PCP's were a more recent invention.
Incidentally, my wife still hasn't asked me what the scuba tank (I use that for the PCP's air source) is doing in the downstairs guest bedroom closet. I guess you would have to know her to understand how humorous that is.

Reading into DA's link a bit more, it looks like my common CO2 cartridge pistol isn't considered a PCP, the tank should be refillable. Ah well. Again I learn something here.

...Well; I was little confused, because I forgot that I was on the pellet gun category. The first thing that I thought about was the Practical Police Combat ( PPC ) competitions, and then I realized that I was on the pellet gun pages.
.....John Pride was a favorite of mine, about 25 years ago, and he was a PPC Double Action Revolver shooter.

I think they do have PCP's that are fed from CO2 cartridges vs compressed air.
I still have to laugh when I think of my wife staring at the scuba tank in the closet, but never asking me what it was for. It is like she would be embarrassed to admit that she didn't know what it was for. ;D

Be careful, maybe she's assumed that you're taking her to the Carribean for a scuba trip.
