Actually we get more then they are letting on and especially in Toronto where its gangs of colour killing each other every week unfortuantely. Drug trade control of course but too many innocent victums have been caught in the cross fire as well. WE now have idiots running around wanting to stop selling bullets in the city and close all gun ranges because of it. As we all know its not us doing this kind of crap at all but virtually being accused of it up here. It will be interesting across Canada the reaction of this incident.

Sounds like the reaction is the same as it is here: Take the guns from the people who didn't do it.

Toronto is by far the worst at this time for shooting problems and also for the stupidity of blaming the rest of us lawful people as well. They have actually shut down several properly run Sporting Clubs for beyond silly reasons. We have a organization called the CSSA Canadian Sports Shooting Assoc. which I belong to who has a fair sized warchest to help defend many of our folks who get charged just for defending themselves or families. One fellow who has been in court for almost 2 years now and is a licenced shooting Instructor had 3 young Aholes firebombing his house with his family inside. He went outside with a loaded hadgun and of course jailed for his efforts. The 3 brats were captured and admitted their sick deeds and will serve less time then him if any at all. We are paying much of this man's legal fee's as it would have broken him financially otherwise. They also supply us with a 5 million dollar Insurance policy heaven forbid a accident does happen on the range as well. $45.00 a year is fine by me for that kind of help and coverage of course. It appears the shooting in Quebec has mental Issues and did have a target in mind altho he never got close to that person at all. Most of us are totally sick of Quebec's whining and improper money portions which is larger then every other province up here put together. 3/5 of it is English speaking anyways so if they ever did try to seperate there would be a real battle there for sure. Even our Native peoples would not back them ever as well.

blueglass; From all appearances, it seems as though a war is brewing between common sense and lopsided logic there. ....In my home State, our Government is controlled by the Republican Party.....However.....The County where I live is controlled by lopsided leftist Democrats, of the Black Caucus and The NAACP, which is absent on common sense, reasoning, or logic. Every time that I have an obstacle, concerning my Lawful Rights, I make the promise to take my argument to our State Courts. In our State Courts, we have a white District Attorney and white Judges. Many has accused these elected officials of being elected by the Republican crossovers, during the Democrat Primaries. ...I could relocate elsewhere, but my house has lost so much value, it's nothing but sad. Fortunately; Our home lays in a city, on the northside of the county. .....Our county elections is very well known around the State of Georgia: News Video "Victor Hill : A Sheriff Without A Badge and Gun"

I am very sorry to hear what you are facing and living with in your area. At least my housing proces up here have held quite firm and somewhat steady even while in this recessationary climate. My house I paid $20,000 for 38 years ago now is worth a wee bit over the $200,00 mark now. Surprises the heck of of me for sure as I never expected it to go this high but I have the largest lot of our street and my old house which is around 108 years old is in very good condition as well. I have great neahbours with the exception of one donkey next door to me whom no-one has anything to do with. We have some crime here but its does not seem to be all that bad most of the time. Our unemployment rate is quite high right now with the majority of our factories shut down. They have all virtually returned to the US it seems as Obama I suspect has been offering some incentives for them to return. At least I got my 30+ years in at General Motors here where we built locomotives and the Armoured vehicles both of our armies use. One of the deadliest machines in the world with up to a 125MM cannon on the front no less. Can lob a round 30 miles with no effort at all it seems and land within inchs of its target as well.

blueglass; I worked for GM, when I got out of the Army in 1973....Then the recession came. I had to returned to The Army in 1974; I had a family to care for and my wife was 8 months pregnant with our second son.
...I tried to return the GM, when got out again, but I was two weeks shy of retaining my seniority. If I had went back into the Army, two weeks earlier, I would have got back my seniority, plus time that I spent in the Army.
.....I never quit supporting our American Automobile Industries, even when I went back into the Army.

I got lucky up here and was able to do my entire 30 years with them. Thats the same year I started there as well up here in the Locomotive Div. Still drive nothing but GM cars and trucks. Have a 1972 GMC P/U toy truck with tons of Hp under the hood. May be getting older but not dead yet I always say aye. Gotta love racing the 1/4 mile lots as well as my shooting. Cars are all old Caddies which I keep running by my own hands. Keeps me busy and off of the streets. I love to build my own racing engines as well.

...Until recently; I had a 1972 Full Size Ford Ranger, with all of the options, and it was manufactured at the Ford Truck factory in Canada. I had that truck for over 25 years, and it still had the same original factory engine and the same transmission ( matching numbers ). I worked with a guy from Canada and he also worked for The Ford Truck plant in Canada.

That probably would have been built in Oakville which is very close to Toronto. They are very rare up here as we use a lot of salt on our roads. UNfortunately they did not last that long here as well as the Dodges and some other makes as well. The Gm's did seem to fare the best but suffered also from the rusty bug. The salt really plays havoc with any steel items in a hurry it seems. We use a lot of 3in1 oil on our guns for this reason up here with the air being so moist also. Darn rust is everywhere and never sleeps it seems.

...The Salt that is used on the roads probably contributes to a lot of rust. The rust seems to hide underneath the fender wells, quarter panels, and underneath carriage door panels.
...I was always taught not to buy a vehicle that came from the northern States.
....Mud is our contributer to rust....If not washed off, it will do the same after awhile.

"Southern Cars" is a big selling point for used cars here in NY. They are getting better now, but you could hardly find a car more than 7 years old that wasn't orange around the wheel wells and bottom of the doors.

MLB; I have seen where used cars are painted over, with rust underneath to paint; Rusted from the inside of the fender wells. I have a friend that bought a 1972 Dodge, I got down to check it out, and rust was already doing it's dirty deeds underneath the paint.
....Floor boards and Trunks is bad about having rust.
....With the new Armor Tuff protective coatings, there has been a lot of progress made to prevent premature rust on the undercarriage.
....Lawn Mower decks is bad about rusting from the bottom, if not cleaned up after use.

I did a complete body off of frame rebuild of my old toy truck in 1996 which took me near 3 years to get finished. Its never winter driven anymore as too much money went in to it to ruin it and I have a total of 5 vehicles anyways so it goes to a friends barn for the winter. He charges me a case of beer a month which I give him aid with on request. Of course I never say No but do the proper count tho as I am not stupid and need my license for sure. The trucks body is still holding up well except for some minor rust on the r/f fender but I have 2 brand new fenders in my minny barn for it so maybe come spring I will put them on. I still do carshows with it so its not too bad as yet. I also run the 1/4 mile with it as well as its got a truck load of pony power under the hood also. Around 450hp or so with a built up TH400 behind it. 342 gear setup with a Auborn posi in the rear end. We both like to run quick on occasion and this does get the job done quite well.

Sounds like quite a ride! I keep the Harley off the road in the spring until all of the salt has washed away. Not good for the aluminum motor.

Or the steel frame as well or any other of the metal parts involved with that lovely looking engine. Is that the 96 cube Harley motor or have you punched it out? Several friends of mine are running them and really enjoy the power of them. They do boogie quite well indeed.

That's an older TC88. Just stock aside from the H&V pipes. They run larger injected V-twins now, but my carb'd 88 is plenty for cruising around.

I figure if I wanted to go fast, I'd get a crotch rocket and really do it up. I don't have the stones to zip along at 120 though. That, and I don't want to dress up in colored leather like a Power Ranger to go for a ride on my belly. ;D

The last bike I rode was a older Triumph Twin 300 - 1956 vintage which we used in the army. Did a slide on my butt only once and totally ruined the backside of my uniform at that time on gravel. Had to stand to go pottie for a month or so after that. It was a Convoy duty trip thru some back roads and we were moving quite quickly when I lost it. Those were quick sprint bikes and actually good for that purpose back then. I laugh about it now but didn't back then of course.
