Yesterday a young man was shooting next to me. He had a Kimber with the 3" barrel. It didn't look right.
Earlier in the week at Becky's she pulled out a Springfield TRP to show me. I was impressed, but something just didn't seem right. Then it dawned on me: the rail. 1911's don't need and shouldn't have a rail. Want a rail - buy some tupperware.
Since I own a few 1911's that are just for display, I'm going to make an assertion: a 1911 should be the way John Moses Browning designed it - 5" Govenment model and NO rail.

...None of my semi-auto pistols has these tactical rails.
.....I don't need a flashlight or laser sight on my pistol, to let my presence to be announced.....This is the reasoning behind shadows, dim light, darkness, Subdued Flat Black Pistols, and Tritium Night Sights.
...Concealment means more to some people, than it does to others.

I can see how some folks would like a rail on their handgun, but I get a kick out of seeing a rail on a pocket/compact pistol (the PPS for example).

That might make someone stop and think twice if you pointed it at them. Especially true if you added some dialog like: "I'm going to shoot you; then I'll cut you open and eat your heart."

....Most of those that I see at the range, with the lasers, takes their eyes off of the front sight and concentrates their eyes on the laser. From the results that I have seen, I will stick to my usual habits and my usual pistols.

I don't know about that DA. One day when I was RO, I was watching a guy shoot from his waist using a laser on a Springfield XD. He was dead on. I asked him why he shot that way and he replied: "bad shoulder". They can be useful.

....TMan; How fast was he from the draw ? .....I don't have the time to sight in a laser; I point, fire, and recover. Sometimes, I don't use sights for short distances.
...Most hip shooters, that I've seen, don't use sights.
