Hello out there, I am new to this forum so if I do something wrong, please let me know. I have a very small Sterling .22 caliber semi-auto pistol. It is not the model that you see all of the time. It looks like their target model but it is much smaller. It has a 1 inch barrel and looks a lot like their .380 but the caliber is .22lr. I am in need of a magazine for it. The pistol has the same grip angle as their target model but the mag would be much too long and since it latches on the bottom, it would not work unless I cut it down and somehow managed to re-fit the base for it to work on my pistol. Does anyone out there know where I can find a magazine for it? Any help that you can provide would be appreciated. Thank you, Pete

Hi Pete and Welcome to the Forum. I will ask around my area here for one of these for you. I don't have one myself but will see if one shows up here in the frozen north. I'll check with my local gunshops up here as sometimes things show up in the strangest places.

Is it the PPL or the 302?
The 302 mags I see from time to time, but not the ppl. I don't think they are interchangeable, but I've don't own one and never tried.

I was in both of my good sources up here in Canada yesterday and had No luck finding the mag you need. I will keep looking on your behalf but you may try putting a ad into GUNNUTS.com which is a extremely large Canadian website. They sell everything up here. Costs nothing as well.

Hello out there, It is the PPL model in .22lr. I believe that these were not made in a large quantity. It could have been as few as 500 pieces.
I will give the GUNNUTS.com site a try. I will be looking until I can find one so please keep an eye out for me. I appreciate the responses.
Thank you, Pete

my guess is it might be faster, and possibly easier to buy one of the mags for the 285 and try to cut it down. I read a brief article that stated the 285 took the same magazines as the High Standards. Those magazines would be cheaper and easier to find. I'm thinking: take the floor plate off, remove the spring, put the body in a chop saw/miter box, and start working your way up, until you get it the right length, cut a couple coils from the spring and try it out. This is all assuming the baseplate isn't welded on. That would make it a little more complicated.
