The open-carry law in Texas has had a unforeseen consequence: a lot of businesses are putting up signs prohibiting it and also prohibiting concealed carry. The grocery store that I've shopped at for the last 26 years has done this. Now I have to go to a different store and find out all over again where things are on shelves. This doesn't sound like much of a problem from a personal perspective, but what I learn is on a particular shelf today, I forget tomorrow.
I never carry when going into a Post Office, since I don't care to go to Federal Prison and be Bubba's bitch, but that is the only place that I will go to a gun free zone. That is probably dangerous too. Ever heard the saying: "going postal".
Politicians pass laws without ever thinking of the consequences. Of course the prime example is Obama care. Gun free zones are for the brave or the foolish to enter.

I'm no fan of open carry in public. Causes more trouble than it's worth, and decreases the effectiveness of carrying in the first place.

...Anytime that a New State Gun Law Passes, the News Media Broadcasts into every household in the state. This leaves room for the anti-self defense crapweasels to chime in, without knowing anything about the purpose of the law. These Laws are about The Rights of Law Abiding Citizens to Defend themseleves...however; The Anti-Gun Crowds begins to spread rumors, that this Self Defense Laws only applies to Bad Guys.....Bad Guys Don't Obey Laws or Obey Signs
