Someone has just put in an ad to sell a Colt Custom Cobra in my area. Is anyone here familliar with this gun? I am wondering if it is as desirable as a python. It is a .357 with a 6" barrel and it is stainless. The price is 1000 canadian dollars. What do you guys think? Thanks for helping out

Bluesteel, There is the "Colt Cobra", which is an alloy small frame, snub nose revolver, chambered in the 38 Special; And there is the "King Cobra", which is the mid frame counter part to the S&W's 686, in .357 magnum. The King Cobra was introduced as the economical, less pricey introduction, for those who desired a Colt double action revolver in .357 magnum, who did not want to kick the extra bucks for the Python. The fine honing, barrel, finish, and work put into the Custom Shop Python will not be found in the King Cobra. Still, I've heard from many owners of the King Cobra that it is a good revolver, but I've heard more raves of S&W's L-Frame 686. I am not familiar with the current exchange rate of U.S. and Canadian currency, or the availability of these revolvers on the Canadian landscape, but where I'm from, the bargaining on these guns have the buyer on the advantage.

Yes i think it might be a king cobra than, it must be a limited edition of some sort.
But if it is like the 686 i might pass because i am looking for something just a little more special.
