Well, I finally did it. I got me, my wife, our checkbook, and a trade-in to the gun store at the same time. I traded in my Colt .380. During our last trip to the range, it misfed 14 times over 17 rounds. It's no longer a question of fixing the gun. Even if it was fixed, I wouldn't trust it. We decided to keep the Star .40 as a truck gun. I lusted after a Steyr that they were trying to get rid of, but it was 9mm and not .357sig. So I didn't get that, I went with a 9mm, that I knew was good. I know you're itching to know what we got. Well... OK... I purchased a new CZ P-01. Their latest and greatest 75 model. Mine came with a target shot at 25 meters and every round is in a 2 inch circle. Lexie bought a Taurus M85 snubbie in 38 Special. She tried out two Smiths, a Glock, a Sig, a Khar, and the CZ Rami and decided that the Stainless Taurus fit her better. The dealer even set her up with a pants clip holster and let her try it in the store (it was waaaaay after closing time by this point). BTW: If you haven't bought a CZ new... they are covered in sealent/grease/whatever. It took me an hour to clean it... not including searching for the magazine base plate I launched across the room. My first launch, I'm so proud. Here are some initial pics. I'm going to the range Thursday morning and will write up both pistols when I get back.

Man, that CZ looks great. I've never tried one. Looking at that makes me want to.
I was thinking of a .38 snubby for my wife, but I need to get her to the range to try one out first. They can have a pretty good kick to 'em. That grip on your Taurus looks like it leaves the pinky dangling. Was that OK for your wife? I've seen some snubbies with a slightly longer grip and a place for the pinky.

Hmmm, so all the oil wasn't unique to my CZ 75B. I've found the CZ to be a very enjoyable gun to shoot. No hammer bite, never get hit in the head with hot brass, no rail-road tracks from the slide. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one. I'm thinking of getting some wood grips from Hogue to dress it up a bit.
Enjoy!!!

Ricochet, my wife tried a bunch of guns and found the Taurus fit her best. I don't even mind the pinky not gripping, though we'll probably get a set of combat grips for it.
TMan: I couldn't agree more. My dad wouldn't shoot an automatic to save his life, then he saw me shoot a better group with a 75 than he did with his 44 Special. Now he owns 3 CZ-75s, a CZ-85, 3 CZ-52s, and CZ-83. He just ordered the Champion Model 75... the lucky bastard.

Dang, you're dad has turned into a CZ nut. Heheh! Take a look at the CZ's on two members of the Swedish Bikini Team. And, yes, I call 'em CZ's.

It would be sort of hard to keep your mind on shooting with that team walking around.

Those Babes have some nice looking hammers hanging on their belts. I like the full length rails on the CZ, with the frame over the slide; reminds me of the Sig 210. www.cz-usa.com
