before you stone me for mentioning it, keep in mind that i don't know anything (yet), and all i know is that the commanche 3" 357 is really cheap and as a college student that sounds good. the question is: are they worth buying?

If I recall, the Comanche is made by Firestorm. I'm sure it would go bang, but I think that for just a little more money, you could get alot more quality. Taurus comes to mind. Maybe even Rossi. On the other hand, I have a Llama Max I (made by the same people as Firestorm) and it's done me just fine.

To each his own. I think you run the risk of getting a lemon but could end up with a jem.
Is this for self defense? I know people are on budgets and I know why and how this would make sense, but something to think about is this:
You can cut corners with the cable bill, beer money, skip a movie here and there ... but IMHO the last thing you would want to do is cut a corner on something that you are going to rely on in a life and death situation. Same goes for the ammo.

Welcome to the forum Deef.
Even if it's not for personal protection, get the best handgun you can afford. If you do it right, you'll enjoy it more and have something worth giving to your kids.
