They must have a new marketing crew over at SIG. I recieved a 2004 Spring Product Supplement catalog in the mail today. Good stuff in there, but I'm not sure what they were thinking with this one...

MLB; I recieved the same thing, and looking through their custom services, this is some kind of offering their providing. Called " Rainbow Titanium Conversion"; I am turned off by it also. Next thing you know, they will be offering pearl grips.

Maybe the picture doesn't do it justice? Maybe it looks really great in person? Probably not, but there must be more to it. After all, I can't believe they'd put the SIG name on that ugly thing.
Has anyone seen one in person yet?

Next thing you know, they will be offering pearl grips. Reminds me of one of my favorite movies - Patton. If you haven't seen it, you should. Especially the first 3 minutes.

I think in the movie "Patton"; A reporter asked if the grips on his Single Action Army Colt was pearl, and the General replied that the only one's who wore pearl grips was New Orleans Pimps, his was Ivory. From looking at the real Patton Colt and his S&W registered 357 magnum, both wore Ivory grips. Because of that movie, I have always stereo typed Pearl grips.

I think the purpose is to distract the perp. You draw the gun, he stares at it with disbelieve, and you shoot him. ;D

Good point Tman; I never quite looked at things from that perspective. Maybe this warrants a thread on methods for distracting perbs, at gun point. Kinda like methods for talking one's way out of a speeding ticket in my home town. The think tank is now open for business. ;D

I think the purpose is to distract the perp. You draw the gun, he stares at it with disbelieve, and you shoot him. ;D See my fear is that If I ever had to pull this out the criminal would not take it seriously laugh at me and force me to shoot. Hell I think I would be embarrassed just to have this in my safe. I think it is a nice chick gun but maybe that is what they where going for just like the new Ford F150 YUCK on both parts

Last Words of the perb might be, "Hey, Nice Sig!".

I wish they hadn't wasted all the effort with the rainbow finishes and concentrated on putting out a 550 rifle.
I have a feeling the "playuhs" among us won't be dishing out $600-$700 for a Sig when they can get a stainless steel Taurus PT92 with gold accents for several hundred less.
Personally I think it looks terrible in pictures and just bad in person. Each to his own.
