I've had several posts about my constant FTE's in my new Kimber Ultra Carry II SS, with several wise heads giving me various advice. Nothing worked and I was ready to give up on this great feeling and looking gun. I finally sent it back to Kimber, and switched from the Kimber mag to Chip McCormick 7 round mags, and the gun has worked flawlessly for the last 200 rounds (I know that DoubleAction wants 500 trouble free but 200 seems enough for me.) Despite the short barrel, I now an trouble free and using this as my primary home defense handgun (in part because it is the only gun I have with good nightsights). Thanks to those who urged me not to give up on Kimber too quickly.

Vito; For a 3" inch 1911, 200 rds will do just fine. For the smaller personnal size light weight defense revolvers and semi-autos, 200 rds is excellent. Five hundred rounds spred over a few sessions is more reasonable, and far less punishing, for the smaller guns. I have put over four hundred rounds in one session through my 3 1/2 " Colt Officer's ACP , but it is a steel frame.
