Just checking out the homepage, and press releases from Ruger. See them for yourselves. www.ruger.com/Firearms/News-Current.htmlhere's the highlights new single six- .17 mach2 and .17HMR 50th anniversery .357 blackhawk the P345- their new .45semiauto M77 Mark II frontier rifle Mark III hunter in .22LR - looks pretty cool Super Redhawk Alaskan - 2.5"bbl available in .454Casull and .45 Colt, or .480 Ruger. All I can say is this will be a handfull...if you could hold on to it. It does still weigh ~42oz unloaded so you get a little help on recoil.

Santa, forget about the jewelry for my wife... I want the Ruger Mark III Hunter really bad. ;D
Hey guys, is it best to wait for a new model of a gun for them to get the bugs out of the production run, (like automobiles) or is it safe to just jump in and get the first one you can get your hands on?

Of all the new releases, that's the one that caught my eye, and went on the want/need list. I think you'd be ok buying a new model gun. My understanding is that there is not a lot of major changes from the Mark II to III. I can't remember them all offhand, but I know the added a magazine disconnect, changed the mag release, and I think widended the ejection port. Check the webpage again. I know they listed the differences in an earlier press release. Besides, unlike a car, Rugers come with a lifetime warantee. From what I hear they are very good about honoring their warantee/guarantees. I've heard of people that received a new gun when they sent their gun in. I think Mountaineer was one.
