i guess its gun oil, saw it at a local gun store for like $4 and picked it up. anyone got any info on this product?

Well, I haven't heard of it, and therefore I wouldn't use it on a gun. Oils can do strange things over time. They can dry out and leave a residue that can really gunk things up. Personally, I only use Wilson Ultra-Lube on my guns. Unfortunately, if I don't shoot them as often as I should, I don't clean them (and I know that is sinful). However, my defense pistols get better treatment.
I use WD-40 all the time on my garden tools. First I wash them, and then while they are still wet I spray them with WD-40. They don't rust. However, I would never use WD-40 on a gun.
Your post here was a good idea, but until you get some good feedback, or do some other research, I wouldn't use it. IMHO.
