I saw this posted on another forum. I've never seen a case-colored finish that looked this gold:

Bet the owner drives an Aztek. ;D Us Element owners have better taste.
Hey I learned something from the photo: use a gun case for taking pictures and you can prop the gun up, and not worry about scratching it on the flagstone.

Those are a couple of Smith & Wesson's Heritige revolvers; My brother had four of those. I didn't like the tapered barrel for the 44 magnum; to tell the truth, there's not much I do like about them.

Tman, The Aztek pioneered the way for all other modern ulgy vehicles. At least that's what we Aztek owners have to say to ourselves. I do have an eye for some nice looking vehicles too... One of my all time favorites is the BMW 507. Kinda the grandpa to your Z8. With only 254 built, I'm sure I'll never see one in my driveway! Back on topic, I prefer my guns to be black, blue, or silver. I'm not a big fan of gold on guns, and those have too much gold/gold tones for my eyes.

You are right, they did try to model the Z8 after the 507. However, they totally missed it on the rear-end. I've never cared for the looks of the back of the Z8. The front is okay, but it really has the looks from the side.
I went to a church in a different city today, it is one that a friend of mine pastors. I drive over there a couple of times a year. Their parking lot is L shaped, and I park in the area where it makes the 90 degree turn. That way no one opens their doors into me. I took the wife's 840 today. As I was walking out to it after church I had to admit, it really does have a good looking rear-end. I was very much against buying the car. It was black, and I wanted to get her a silver 540. Over the years the car has really grown on me. It is a 97, and I just went over 25,000 on the way home.
Truth be known, I'm more fond of it than I am of the Z8, which cost nearly twice as much.
Actually, I'm more fond of my engraved Jennings than I am of the X-Five. No, I'm not - just kidding. ;D Hope DA's got good batteries in his pacemaker. ;D

Those two Smith & Wesson revolvers might appear as having a gold color to their tint, actually they are color case hardened, with dull brownish tint. The color case hardening does look good on the frames of the single action revolvers but seems out of place on the double actions. Talking about engraved pistols; Colt had the engraved 1911, used in the film Titantic, on display at the '99 SHOT Show in Atlanta. It was just sitting in plain view from it's glass case, with no special security or fan fare.
