I recently purchased this Model 29-2 4" revolver. I think I have been bitten by the blued big bore bug. This one came with presentation case and is around 1972-74 vintage. There are a few inperfections on the barrel, all in all very nice. They just don't do bluing like that anymore.

The focus for the past many years seems to be on stainless steel. I used to like the looks of polished nickel, or stainless, but I've seen so much of it now, I like the looks of the old blued guns more.

They have a coke machine at the range where I shoot, and I often drink a coke while I'm shooting. Last week I learned to put the coke to my left. It was on my right and one of the ejected .22 LR shells made a 3 pointer.
I mentioned it to one of the other ole boys there who also is a coke drinker. He told me to be very careful with the coke when I'm shooting guns that have been blued. He said that the coke will quickly removing the bluing from a gun.
TA, from that picture I would have sworn it was nickel plated. Nice picture though - no shadows that seem to plague me. I like the end-grain of the wood in the background too. Took me a second to figure out what that was, then I realized it was another picture taken on your steps.
Nice purchase. I'm assuming you will shoot it. How well do the grips fit your hand?

Thanks TMan, The grips are the Eagles that I had on my M57. This gun came with Fitz Gunfighters which are plastic. They look nice resembling cocobolo, but the checkering is sharp. I did shoot it yesterday, but the grips make it painful. The originals are supposed to be coming to me.

The 4" inch N Frames almost has me rethinking my carry options. Beautiful revolver, TA.
