I ordered a set of Hogue smooth Pau Ferro grips and refinished and checkered them. They certainly are not Nills, but don't look too bad.   |

Very nice work TA. I'd imagine that fabricating that shape from a block of wood would be difficult. Hogue wood grips are rather pricey to start. After investing your time in them, they must be hard to market.
Is there a special tool that you use to do the checkering? I can't imagine being able to cut all those straight parallel lines by hand with a chisel.
