The obvious slimmer profile of the semi-auto make it easier for concealed carry. Follow-up shots are faster for me. Jerry Miculek might disagree with me.

TA, Jerry couldn't argue about the slimmer part. With the higher capacity revolvers they sure don't aren't slim.
I've thought about those ultra light weight S&W's but I never bought one because of the width.
For shooting, I really enjoy revolvers. However, for self-defense I either carry a semi-auto or the derringer.

Even though I enjoy shooting double action revolvers, I can fire a single action semi-auto much faster. Even with the semi-auto, I do not think I would stand much of a chance in ever coming close to what Jerry Meculek does with a double action revolver on one of his bad days ( If he has any such days).
