I have heard this from a good source as to the winds of change blowing up in New Hampshire. He said;
No more two-tones with accents. All two tones will be nickel slide only. Trigger, controls, hammer, etc. will all be blued/phosphate/Nitron - black - This is a fact.
No more 228s. Period. This is a fact.
Last few weeks (older stuff):
No more 225s. This is a fact.
No more 210s. This is a fact.
No more Trailsides. Fact.
No more 229STs. Fact.
No more Sport pistols

No more Sport pistolsI can understand discontinuing the 228 because of the 229, I can also understand discontinuing the 225 because of it's larger size using a single stack 9mm, the others might be due to making room for production demands resulting from those military and govt. contracts ( ALA Colt ). Alot work went into the Sport Pistols, which did not equal with that of the less expensive price tag when compared to other such pistols in the 1911.

Very good info TA. From a much less reliable source, I understand SIG is discontinuing the Trailside due to pressure from a candy company, who claim copyright infringement. Apparently, the similarities between the Trailside and PEZ dispensers are too numerous to overlook. ;D

Let's see, in addition to my 4 Sig Sport pistols, I also have a 228, 210, and a Trailside. So, every Sig that I own has been discontinued. Thank you very much Sig
Wonder if they gave me AIDS?

TMan; One thing about the Sport Pistols is the fact that they were manufactured in Germany.

TMan; One thing about the Sport Pistols is the fact that they were manufactured in Germany. Whoa, I know the 210 was made in Switzerland, and I think the Trailside was too, but I thought the 228 was made there too. It isn't readily available, or I'd check to see what it says on it. I can get to it tomorrow.

The 228 was one of the German manufactured pistols from the Sig owned Sauer plant, something with Swiss Laws, or treaties, regarding exportation of certain firearms.
