I would want something very simple to detail strip with a good weather resistant finish. My choice would be something in the 1911, with a steel or alloy frame, depending on how it would be carried. Barrel length and frame size would also be an available option.

Considering that I've lived in the Buffalo, NY area all of my life, I can't say I've put too much thought into it. ;D
We're expecting about 7" of snow this afternoon btw.

DA, MLB probably knows better than I, but having lived in the snow-belt for a good number of years, I have some experience with it. The weekend I returned from Vietnam we got 76" that weekend (no, I didn't leave out a decimal point).
Anyhow, snow is Mother Nature's excrement.

Last time we had a Snow here, his name was Hank. Seriously; Last time we had snow here we had to borrow enough of the white stuff from a neighboring city to build one five foot snow man. All joking aside, most of the time, when we get snow here, if ever, we sit, look at it, and do nothing until it melts. Most of our drivers can't drive on dry pavement, and those are usually the ones that come out on snow days.

Well, the snow turned out to be a false alarm, but how it can be 27 degrees and rain is beyond me. The resulting freezing rain is wreaking havoc with the traffic though. I went out at lunch time for a meeting, and saw quite a few folks testing out the guard rails. You would think it common knowledge that a 4WD vehicle doesn't corner or stop any better on ice than any other vehicle. If anything, they probably perform worse.
Dodging the big steel projectiles... MLB
