I normally don't do this, but as most of you know, I really like my Springfield XD, but don't care much for my Glock 34. Pete spends alot of time unscrambling the new language applied to the striker fired pistols. One day I expect the same thing to happen when the more mentally challenged replaces "Revolver" with "Wheel Gun". Striker Fired Actions have been in use for over a hundred years.

DA, what I can't picture in my mind is exactly how they work. I think that the striker is actually what we normally consider a firing pin, and the spring that surrounds it actually moves it forward to strike the primer. However, in the Glock it is supposed to be half-cocked, and then pulling the trigger fully cocks it and somehow releases it. It is all kind of fuzzy in my head.
