I looked long and hard at the 686 but I just ended up wanting a 27. Finding a 27 around here has proven a pain in the arse tho.

TBT; It seems to me that those certain guns which I put more effort into looking for, are those which I never find. You might actually end up finding a Colt Python while your looking for your 27; That is how things work out sometimes.

I could live with a Python to be sure lol.

I went to a local gun show today looking for an M27, a Hi-Power, or if I was really lucky, maybe a P5C. No dice.
I did almost pick up an old Crosman pump air pistol, but not for $75.

I love gun shows. And gun raffles. But I can't find any around here right now.

I was just down in your area yesterday TBT. We had to visit Kennywood Park and a factory in Zelienople. Somehow I picked the short stick and ended up in the factory...

Oh yeah? I haven't been to Kennywood in probably 15 years. Are you within driving distance of Pittsburgh or did you fly in on business?
Place is crazy for the Steelers right now. As am I lol.

Incidentally, I didn't start this thread drift. I'm torn. I like both coaches. I'll be happy whoever wins. However, I think I like Mike better as a coach from his Green Bay days. However, there is nothing wrong will Bill.
Speaking of "Bill...", I have a Buffalo Bills sweat shirt. How many other teams can claim to have won their conference 4 years in a row. I know, I know, there are those little super bowl losses.

Does it count as anti drift if I combine two threads... The Wal-Mart Winchester thread and the football drifting combine. If the Steelers don't win the super bowl....

I think I may have some culpability in this particular tack. Trying to catch up to TMan. ;D
Yes, I was driving in TBT. A bit more than 3.5 hrs from Buffalo. While there I mentioned that I didn't expect the Steelers to get this far. The local folks I was with took a step back and ducked for cover.
So the Bills have a new coach, and our famous old coach is the GM now. We'll see... Maybe they'll hire Jim Kelly for the offensive coordinator ;D

Yeah, Levy's back. Don't like Juron though as a coach. Hope it works out for you guys.
Oh ... Ben Roethlisberger is god. Go Steelers! Whoohoo!

As far as Cowher he wins a lot of games yeah, but he needs to win a Super Bowl. 13 years of failure has gotten old with me.

I was glad to see Juron leave Chicago. Apparently, Chicago needed a little more Lovie.

Well, went back to my original want and bought a Smith and Wesson SW1911. Got a really good deal on it because it was new old stock and had the billboard roll mark on it. Now I have to figure out how to do that brushed stainless thing that TA does so I can remove that god-awful BILLBOARD from the slide lol.

That's got to be the best application for the TA treatment I've heard of yet. Looking forward to pictures...

I just purchased a Ruger SP101 (2") in 357. Why? One turned up for a very good price, too good to pass up. I had planned to purchase an XD45 or a longer barrel 357 (686), but I felt particularly impetuous.
It should show up at my local FFL on Wednesday or so.
Now, I have to start saving again for that XD45.

Ron, I looked it up and that gun weighs 25&1/2 oz, which is 14 oz less than my GP100.
I've never shot the SP101, but its weight is only 7&1/2 oz more than my Taurus 38 Special, which is the toughest recoil of my revolvers. It is harder to shoot than my 460 XVR. (Small grip is part of that equation).
I'll be very interested to hear your comments after shooting 357 Magnums through that thing. I would NOT advise S&B ammo, which is a bit hotter.

Thanks for the comments on the SP101. I had one years ago, and shooting it wasn't as dramatic an experience as I was lead to believe. That thick and deep barrel and lug really helped tame the recoil. The stock grip did cause a blister shooting 357, but a Pachmayer grip solved that problem. I have an S&W 642 for occasional carry that is loaded with 38 spl +p. It's no problem to shoot 20 rounds of the +p. I wouldn't want to shoot a 50 round box, not because it hurts, but because it simply is no fun. Except when I am seriously practicing for personal defense, shooting, for me, is meant to be great fun.
