I've always liked the lightweight alloy frames on the 1911s, not so much for alot of shooting but for carry. The Sigs have always stood in the way of this, because of their calibers, their own unique lightweight frame design, and the complete package which surrounds their pistols. One pistol I will hope to one day acquire for carry is a Colt Lightweight Commander in .38 Super. The only thing I would probably do to the pistol is a drop in Wilson grip safety, new Wolff springs, and a trigger job.

I've actually been eyeing the Smith scandium 1911 commander. About as light as aluminum yet they claim that it won't wear like it. Could be the best of both worlds no? A light carry 1911 that you don't have to worry about beating up ...
