While at my dealer's yesterday, one of her customer's brought in a couple of guns that he wanted to sell his wife wanted him to sell. One was a Wilson Combat, which was like one that I own. The other was a Springfield XD like mine. Well almost like mine.
Mine came with night sights, his didn't. He sent it back to Springfield Armory to have a "trigger job" done on it and have night sights put on it. He said the total outlay for this work was $270. I wasn't aware that Springfield had a "performance center" where they did work like S&W was.
Well he racked the slide, showed me it was empty and handed it to me. He said to pull the trigger. I just about had to excuse myself and go to the bathroom. The trigger couldn't have been more than 2lbs.
They have some real artists at Springfield Armory.

Yeah I've heard alot about how nice the triggers can be on XD's. I think their pretty good right out of the box actually. The stock XD trigger IMHO is easily the best DAO pull I have ever felt. Not much worse than a lot of single actions out there to be honest.

Well TBT, I kind of share your feelings, but my trigger gauge doesn't. In fact, I have tried it with two different gauges with the same results. I'm breaking at 6.5lbs.
Having said that, in spite of the heavy pull, I shoot it much better, as I've said numerous times before, than my Glock 34.
Light pull isn't everything. I took the Ruger P90 to the range today since it has been over a year since I last shot it. It breaks at 3.5lbs, and I was all over the place. Mostly I was over around 9 and 10 o'clock.

Yeah, I've heard it is actually a lot heavies than it feels. I think the angle and travel length have a lot to do with it. The XD trigger really is pretty nice right out of the box.
