Well, I finally done it. I got one of them 9mm things. I was never very impressed with the 9mm and frankly didn't see a good enough reason to add another caliber to my collection. But, the price was right and I wanted to see what all the hype is about with the P225. This was a police trade-in with night sights. I added a set of the famously beautiful Nill grips from Germany. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it is typical Sig quality by the looks of it. The gun does feel good in the hand, so I expect that it will shoot well. I actually got a package deal with this and a P226 9mm. It is a West German made, proofed and triple serial numbered (frame, slide and barrel) pistol. The whole reason I started this quest was that I needed a P226 9mm to test a new stainless aftermarket barrel from a barrel manufacturer that I am working with to produce conversion barrels for Sigs to go from .40 or 357 to 9mm. Right now barstow (expensive) and EFK Firedragon are the major contenders in the market. I have one barrel and I sent out two others to a couple of Sig Armorers for their assessment. If these prove out to be a quality barrel, they should retail around $130 or less. Anyway, I ended up with a P225 too.

TA, the thing I like about 9mm is the price. It has been a long time since I paid full price for 9mm ammo. I wait until I see a sale and then stock up.
The recoil from 9mm isn't that much different from 45 ACP, so when shooting it in a 1911 and then switching to a 45 ACP 1911, I don't notice all that much difference.
Although I've had issues with Sigarms marketing techniques, they do market a wonderful pistol. I have a few, but I think my favorite is the P220 Sport.

Now there's an understatement! I think TMan has a better selection that some of the gun shows I've been to. ;D

TA; The beauty of obtaining a 225 is the fact that it is no longer available, especially with the German Steel Stamped slide. I always looked at the 225 as the single stack 9mm in a Sig, but I saw a P-220 chambered in 9mm at the range a few months ago as a newer production pistol.

Wow, I sure wish I had a 220 Sport chambered in 9mm.
The 226 Sport has never pleased me that much. I think it was the fact that I fully expected it to be compensated, and when I received it, it wasn't. The thingy on the front is just a weight. I'd probably shoot it more, but it can't compare to the trigger on the X-Five.
Yikes, I hope that made sense. I ate at Malone's tonight and ordered a double Mai Tai. What they do is no matter what the drink, they give you a free refill. So two double Mai Tai's... I'm surprised I could log on to the laptop. Think I'll go to bed now.
