Well, mostly new. The previous owner had less than 20 rounds through it.
It was very comfortable shooting 38 spl through the little, 2.25" barrel. I shot good groups, but a bit low and to the right. The DA trigger will take some getting used to. Shooting SA was a breeze.
Shooting 357 Federal 125 gr Hi-Shock HP was...well...interesting. It looks like some Pachmeyer grips are in store for this little pop gun. Just 5 of those 125 gr HP, and I was very happy to go back to the 38 spl.

Ron; Glad to hear that you enjoyed shooting this DA revolver. I've become somewhat spoiled with some of the smoother and lighter DA trigger actions, especially with wider trigger pads. The SP 101 has been a favorite of many for customizing, including trigger action work.I've met alot of people who have little or no interest in shooting in double action because of the longer heavier strokes. Here is one example of a customized version of the SP 101, in our gallery, posted by one of our members. Bobbed hammers, in combat revolvers, are sometimes found to be DA only.

Hi, DA,
The trigger could use some work, but this is going to be a utilitarian gun. Its main use will be for carry when my wife and I are deep in the woods hiking with our dogs. I wanted something a little more powerful than a 38 spl or 9 mm, yet is small enough to be carried in a fanny pack or the like. The SP101 should be ideal. When people ask why I carry when hiking, I just mention the mountain lion attacks that occur in California, taking small kids and dogs right out in front of the parents (owners). I've lost one pet to a mountain lion (can't prove it, but it's likely) and that is enough. Also, a young man was badgered by a crazy man while hiking the nearby Hogback mountain. The nutcase then cut the kids throat. Luckily, a family was nearby who frightened the evil b$stard away and took the kid to the hospital. The young man, who attends the university that I work in, survived, but with a load of stitches.
I just ordered a Camelback hydration pack (from Elite Tactical Sources - on sale for $40!) that has a 28 oz capacity bladder AND a gun compartment! Yes, it is made to carry a handgun. It goes around the waist rather than the back, so there is easy and fast access to the gun. That is where the Ruger will reside.
I'm off to clean the guns from yesterday's shoot.
