I picked up this rare version of the P230. It is an all steel, West German, 9mm Police (9mm Ultra) caliber. There were approximately 300 of these made and about 25 imported into the U.S. to date. They were used by the LSA, SEK Special Operations Unit of the German Police. It appears to be around a 1980 vintage.

TA; I'm impressed. I'm attracted to very few pocket size pistols; This is one of those exceptions.

Oops.
I did not realize "9mm police, 9mm Ultra" stood for .380 ACP. I had heard of the terms "9mm Kurz" and "9mm short" but not the previous two.
Still a very nice pistol.
The decocker makes it very unique to the Walthers and PPK clones.
The amount of pistol that you have to holster ahead of the grip is very small. That makes them easy to conceal.

The 9mm Police AKA 9mm Ultra is not the same as 380 ACP(9x17) or the Short or Kurz. It is actually a 9x18 cartridge, but it is not the same as 9x18 Makarov either. You can only shoot 9mm Police or 9mm Ultra through it. From what I have read on this round, it seems to have a little more punch than the 9mm Makarov. They get over 1000 fps from this cartridge.
