Since I'm between planting and pruning in the backyard, I'm looking at guns again. One of the ones that has interested me is the S&W 22. They have the 22A, which is "Alloy" and the 22S, which is "Steel". The interesting thing is: they have a lot more of the A models available than the S models, with the latter being just one. tinyurl.com/yage7xOne of the things with the "A" is that they have a 7" version available. Normally, I would go for steel like I did with the Beretta 92S, but is the steel really better than the alloy? Why does S&W have so many different versions of the alloy and not the steel. What would you get?

A pal of mine has the S&W 22A and loves it. He tried to convince me to get it over my RMII. I handled one at the gun store, but liked the Ruger better (although I liked the SW22A price better ;D ).
Sad part is we've never gotten together to compare the two since he lives in NJ, and can't bring the handgun into NYS when he comes back to visit. I haven't looked into it, but he doesn't think that NJ would allow an out of state permit either.
Perhaps we should set up some targets on the border...
Modified to add: I wonder why they have a camoflaged version? I can't imagine you could hunt with it.

Its camouflaged so that your wife, who thinks you have too many guns, hopefully won't notice it.
