I just picked up this -5 pre-lock after thinking about it too long and losing it and then getting a 2nd chance, so I snatched it up. It came with a Hogue rubber grip which is really nice for range, but I added this Ahrends Boot Grip which would be really nice for carry. If I was going to carry a revolver, I think this would be a very good choice. 7 rounds of your finest .357 Magnum.

One of the three revolvers I traded for my two Wilson CQBs was a short barreled 686. Weigand had done some extensive work to it. My brother traded it to a dealer and the gun was bought up by a local collector. I've talked to the guy about getting it back but he don't sell.
Boot grips works real good on the 686, especially the round butt. That is a good looking revolver TA.

That is a nice 357!
I'll have a 686 sooner or later.

It is a 2 1/2" barrel. I am having a pancake holster made up for it. With a good belt, I don't think it will be too bad for all day carry. I weighed a few of my guns for comparison. These are unloaded weights. - S&W 686 Plus - 34 oz.
- P239 - 28 oz.
- Kimber 1911 Target 38 oz.

TA, Who's ,making the holster and belt, I reccommend Bob Mernickle custom. Excellent workmanship. I have two of his double dress belts and they hold two double extended mags nice and tight to your body. Also keep my P-14 in tight.

I have heard good things about Mernickle. I am having a holster made by Simply Rugged. I have never tried their holsters, but they come highly recommended.
