I'm almost positive that I've mentioned one or more times, but the only gun I ever got rid of was a Ruger 22/45. It was before I found out about the CCI Mini-Mag cartridges, and I'd had jamming problems. I hated the gun. So, after explaining the problems to my gunsmith, I traded the gun to him toward my Browning Hi-Power. I've since then regretted it - I should have just bought the BHP outright, but I hated the Ruger. Alas, I've regretted getting rid of the 22/45. I've wondered that with the right ammo - it probably wouldn't have had a problem. Then a couple of months ago the Gun Test magazine gave the Ruger 22/45 a "Do not buy" rating because it was difficult to field strip and put back together. Really ticked me off. I now have on order a KP678HMK3 6 7/8" 22/45 AS SS .22LR from www.sportingarms.com for $355. Considering the fact that I got $150 for my old one... you do the math - true penance. I'm really busy this week, but should be able to pick it up next week. I'll append to this thread to let you know how I like it.

Aren't the 22/45 and the Mark series the same with the exception of different grip/trigger assemblies?

Aren't the 22/45 and the Mark series the same with the exception of different grip/trigger assemblies? No, the 22/45 is on a polymer frame. However, the basic design, and therefore the difficulty for some, is the same. When I whined about the 22/45, I was told that I should have gotten a Mark II instead because it was a much better gun. I don't plan on putting Volquartsen parts in this one, but I may do a little geometry work on the trigger/sear relationship.

I wonder if the receiver/barrel assemblies are interchangable.

I'm finally getting around to addressing your "wonder if": they must be the same because from the Pac-Lite web-site:

Sounds like you could swap out the frames and receivers between the two.
