Before it was named the SIG P220, it was the BDA, manufactured by Sig Sauer in W. Germany and imported by Browning in the late 1970's. There have been some changes over the years, but most of the parts are interchangeable with the current P220. It was originally available in 3 calibers, .45ACP, .38 Super and 9mm. The .38 Super is the most rare with only 752 having been reported to be imported into the U.S.. The 9mm follows with less than 2800 imported. Quite a few ,45ACP models were brought in. Here is one of each of the 3 calibers. The .45ACP has a slighlty different slide profile. It is the bottom pictured gun. .38 Super

WoW TA; I can't believe you acquired all three. I first learned about the Sig Sauer P-220 in 1982, when Interarms was importing it and charging almost twice for what Browning was giving them away at. In 1982, I ran across few people who knew of these pistols. Things might have been far different if we had the internet back then.
