5OT, I bet as a kid that you used to shake your Christmas presents and then figure out what was inside them. Of course you are right. However, I'm not sure what model that I'm getting. RSR has it listed as: However, they don't have it in stock. Incidentally, you can go to www.rsrgroup.com then go to their on-line catalog and do product searches. You just can't see the prices or inventory. Sports South didn't have it either, but she was able to get it from Acusport. The "problem" is the model number that RSR has listed isn't shown on the Taurus web-site. All they show on their web-site is the 2.5" chamber. I'd really rather have the 3" one, but the 2.5" would be okay too. (I have both barrels for the Bond Arms ). I won't find out until it gets here later this week exactly what model that I got. Acusport does have the model listed, but has it listed as "Hard to Get", and doesn't show any inventory either. Also, it cost her more to get it from Acusport, which naturally gets passed on to the user.

5OT, I bet as a kid that you used to shake your Christmas presents and then figure out what was inside them. What do you mean, USED to shake my presents. I still do. I remember seeing them (or maybe it was the thunder5)at a gun show 1+years ago and thought it looked like a good idea/concept. Then I didn't see any until early this year. I was tempted, but bought a .22 instead. Have your dealer check with SOG, they have the 44 ten trackers listed in this months flyer. 3"bbl in blue and stainless, but I think they had ported barrels.

Well, I picked it up yesterday and it looked different that what I'd seen at Cabela's. What I ordered was model: TI441039UL, which I couldn't find on the Taurus web-site. Well, I found out what the "UL" suffix meant - Ultra-Light.
It has the same fiber-optic front sight as the other models, and has the Tracker style grips.
While I was there, a transfer of a 10" Desert Eagle in 44 Magnum came in. I picked it up and was amazed at the weight. This thing is a real monster. If someone pulled one of these and pointed it at you, you had better be wearing Depends.
Back to the Judge: I don't have a suitable scale, but I'm guessing that the UL Judge is about the same weight as the Bond Arms. With the bigger grips, I think shooting it with 410 shells shouldn't be any worse than the Bond Arms, which people that have shot it seem to really love.
So, according to plan, I should get to shoot this thing on Tuesday.

Sounds like an alloy frame then?

MLB, I'm not sure what it is made out of, but you are probably right that is is an alloy of some sort. It is gray in color. It should be brown.
Da Judge must be a liberal. The first problem occurred when I loaded a 3" shell. It protruded past the front of the cylinder. That was interesting. Must have been some confusion in Brazil in converting from mm to in. No wonder it isn't listed on their web-site. Maybe I should try a different brand of 3" shotgun shells?
So, being a boy scout for a brief period, I came prepared - I had 2-1/2" shells too. They chambered, but with some degree of difficulty. You have to make sure that they are all completely seated.
It fired the bird-shot, and you knew it when it went off. However, the Tracker style grips did a good job of absorbing the recoil. Then it came time to eject the empties. Lots-of-luck. I had to pound the extractor on the bench in order to get them to extract.
Then came time for my buddy to shoot it. The target was on a type of backer-board and set at 7 yards. I noticed while he was shooting that a lot of stuff was flying off the back of the target. I retrieved the target and looked at the back. WOW, it had a major league exit wound.
I thought it would be a good time to leave the range, and besides, I'd had quite enough of da judge. I'll try it with some 45LC and see how the sights work. The last time I shot the Bond Arms with 45LC I wasn't getting any holes in the target. Then I saw wood splintering and the whole target fell to the ground.
These 410/45LC's are not making me popular at the range.
Oh, TMan's recommendation: DO NOT BUY

I talked to Taurus and they informed me that this is NOT chambered for 3" shells. They won't have a Judge out until December that is chambered for 3" shells. So RSR's information was incorrect. I brought it to their attention and they have corrected it.
I also asked Taurus why the gun isn't shown on their web-site, and he informed me that it has only been out for 2 weeks and they don't have their web-site updated yet.
Also, the 3" version won't be available in the Ultralite configuration.
