I know you guys don't have your collars on backwards, but it is time for me to make a confession:
I've sunk a lot of money into the G34, but unfortunately didn't keep track of all the changes. I do know that I put in a Ghost Rocket Connector because that required a bit of work. There was also someone's aftermarket trigger and some other parts. High on the list to make it more accurate for me was the fiber optic front sight (had to remove the ported aftermarket barrel).
The end result has been a pistol that I always carry in my range bag and frequently let people dry fire it. Especially people that are shooting Glocks. It has been fun to watch the expressions on their faces. Kind of like someone that has never dry-fired a free pistol before.
Also, I've gotten quite accurate shooting it too. No, it isn't as good as some of my other guns, but it didn't cost nearly as much either. Well, I suppose if you add up all the cost of the modifications...
The other thing is that I've gotten some crappy ammo on occasion, and it runs perfectly through the Glock with the exception that it won't always lock the slide open after the last round.
I just ordered a Favre jersey from the Packers (yea, I still live in Texas, but I carry a 357 Magnum ;D ), I really like the G34, but I won't be ordering any Glock jackets or shirts any time soon.
One other thing: compared to some other pistols: the Glock is so easy to work on.

Oh Glock, may I compare thee to to the common garden shovel?
Utility in form, breakage is rare. Reliable in application, and your simplicity makes for easy repair.
It bothers not what lead or dirt you sling, for a simple tool of the trade. Regardless, I'll never be fond of the thing.

That is a really good comparison. Glocks are great, reliable pistols but not interesting. I feel the same way about my Kel-Tecs. No fancy wooden grips, glossy finishes, fancy sights, amidextrous safeties, lasers, etc. They are utilitarian, though -- I carry 'em. MLB: You join the NRA yet?

I did the acid test this morning. I took both the Glock and the Springfield XD to the range. I've always shot much better with the XD than I ever did with the Glock. Not any more!!!. After 30 rounds through the XD, which were all in the black, I handed it to my buddy and he shot 5 rounds. I then pulled out the Glock for the next 15 rounds. 12 of the 15 were in one ragged hole. The other 3 were close, but not touching. Hmmm, they don't have Glock jackets in Medium.

5OT, hey thanks for the info. I didn't know anyone had modifications for the XD. I'll get the kit, but I doubt if I'll buy the jacket. I really like my particular Glock after the modifications, but I'm really not an out-of-the-box Glock fan.
I think I have some Sig Sauer shirts somewhere. I know I have a S&W 460XVR shirt, and I'm proud to wear it. I think the 460XVR is a great revolver.

5OT, I had an e-mail from PistolGear this morning telling me that they had the XD kit in stock so I ordered it. They also had a lubricant called "Gunbutter" that I read about somewhere, so I ordered it too. I want to try it on the slides of the LS-9. (I had 2 failures to feed out of 50 rounds the last time I shot the LS-9 with Mobile 1 5W-20 on the slides.)
I didn't go with SpringerPrecision because they aren't really set up for e-trade. You have to print their form and fax it, or e-mail them with your credit card information. I don't put credit card information in e-mails.
