I was thinking about TBT's comment on another thread on how the P99 fits the hand pretty well. It seems to me that semi-autos seem to have a more ergonomic grip than revolvers in general.
I wonder if anyone has made a revolver with a grip angle / shape more like a semi-auto, or if the mechanics or looks of it just wouldn't work.

I don't know about having it match a grip on a semi-auto, but some revolvers are just impossible for my shape hand. The Colt Python with its large taper at the base is extremely uncomfortable for my hand, which is why mine has Hogue grips on it (the Python that I shoot, not the other one).
The Bisley and Bird's-head grips don't work for me either. I'd probably own more revolvers if they fit my hand. I've been fortunate that the semi's grips seem to always work for me: some are more comfortable than others, but with 3 backstraps being provided, it is hard for me to tell which one really feels better in my hand. (Then the H&K people decided to add replaceable side panels so now on the P30 you can have 9 different combinations. Which one is best? Arrrrgh)

The magazine well on the semi-autos play a role in how the grip fits in the hand as opposed to the revolvers. I tend to favor checkered grips, with open back straps, on my double action revolvers.
