Coming from Armalite, the MSRP of $550 for the standard model seems to be quite low. I'm wondering what happened to the accuracy of this pistol.

Maybe that has to do with the fact it was imported from Turkey.

Maybe we should start a Turkey of the month club on this Handgun Forum.

That was funny. I had read the review of that pistol but didn't pick up on the fact that after all that praise for the slide's design, and its contrubution to accuracy, the pistol was not at all accurate!

Becky got one of these in several months ago, and I was looking at it while picking up something else (don't remember what - surprised?).
The fit and finish appeared to be pretty decent, but then I popped in a snap-cap and dry-fired it. Really awful trigger. It was creepy and gritty. I don't know how that would effect the pistol being shot from a Ransom Rest though, I can't think how it would.
I think that Armalite saw the success that Springfield was having with the XD, and figured that they should hop on the bandwagon. At least Ruger made the SR-9 instead of importing it from some other country (I'm becoming more Politically Correct - I said "other" vs. 3rd world).
The gun didn't even come close to impressing me enough to be added to my harem. Contrast that to the H&K Expert that even though it was 45ACP vs. 9mm, I couldn't wait to get that baby home and to the range. I'll put it up against any of my 1911's that cost twice as much.

I can't keep track of all the mergers/buyouts/partnerships in most industries, firearms included. Springfield Armory has their headquarters in Geneseo, IL. Looking at the billboard on the Armalite, I see it too is from Geneseo, IL.
I remember looking at the AR24 a while back. I liked most of the things I read about it, seemed like a Sig and a CZ got together after a long night of smoking and drinking.
