Who would have thought that a "Glock a day" fundraiser would happen in NYS? Apparently a State Trooper runs it. www.gotglock.org/I don't particularly care for Glocks, but I'm doing it for the children... ;D Wish me luck (I'm hoping for the Bushmaster though.)

It's refreshing to see such drawings still exist, especially in New York State. It's specially good to see that it's for a very worthy cause.

The Bushmaster would be my pick, too, and I'm not a big AR fan. There is a lot more value there.

I'm rather surprised that this is open to someone under the age of 21. When I won the drawing for the FNP-9, his first question was: "are you over 21". You have to be 21 in order to get a CHL in Texas, but I don't know about the age restriction for buying a handgun.
Anyone know the laws in NYS?

21 to own a handgun in NYS. 18 to be in this drawing. If for any reason (including age) that you are unable to take possession of the firearm, they give you $400.

I have a funny story about age and gun ownership. I was working with a retired police officer, and he told me this story. He went to the police academy right out of high school. He finished the academy and got his first job while he was still 18. His department provided him with a .38spl, and he was to buy his backup. His dad had to buy his backup, because he was not 21. He could legally carry a gun, but could not legally buy it! (this was before Ohio had CHL/CCW)
Good luck on the drawning!

That is funny, except for the part about letting an 18-year-old be a cop! ;D
