No confession here. I use it and like it. I will be out of town for the next gun show so I will miss buying a new bunch this time around.

I got 500 rds. last time I bought ammo. I still have quite a few left. I have been shooting mostly .40 in the tactical shooting I have been doing. Ran out of my GA Arms .40 a while ago and have been using white box until the next time I get to a gun show.

Anybody know how much GA credits you for brass? What calibers do they accept and what condition does it need to be in?

My email to Georgia Arms regarding the possibility of their making some Shear Power FMJ has gone unanswered for a week. I figure they either don't care about my query at all, or don't check their email often.

metalman; When I turn in brass to georgia arms, I get $.035 each for .45acp, $.05 each for 44 magnum, $.035 for .357magnum, $.035 for .357sig, and $.015 for .40S&W. I like it when a bunch of new guys come in shooting up the range with .45acp and 44 magnum; I'm always helpful in helping to keep their area swept up in my spare time. ;D. At one time I was getting $.045 for the .45acp.

Seraph; You'll probably get better results by calling the fine folks at georgia arms on the phone. They seem to respond very well to questions over the phone. Remember that this is Georgia; And many still answers telephones in certain parts of the country. ;D

Seraph,
They responded to my emails within a couple of days. Must be an oversight.

I guess I really have gotten used to people not answering the phone these days. I'll call them tomorrow.

In this day and age of computer viruses, I'm very cautous of opening email from senders I do not know. Telephones are still the fastest and safest method of communication, if you have an older computer such as mine. My wife called in some phone orders to Hogue last month, and she said it took all day to finally get someone.

DA, Do you know if GA buys back 9mm brass? Seems like they have to get their brass from somewhere. How does the brass need to be packaged for them to accept it? Does it need to be sorted by manufacturer, counted, etc? I'm hoping to turn in some brass next time there is a show in town but I don't want to lug it around and then have them tell me they won't take it.

metalman; Most of the new brass that georgia arms uses on their new ammunition is Starline. Their brass credit for the 9mm is $.01, or $1.00 per 100. The brass only has to be sorted by caliber. I always sort mine in plastic sandwich bags at 100 cases per bag; you might get 200 cases per bag in the 9mm. If it's usually less than three cents per empty case, I do not bother with the trouble of picking it up at the range; too much time and trouble sorting it at home, counting, bagging, and not worth the effort in the end. When you go to turn it in at the show, get your ammo purchase in front of you, and then tell them that your turning in brass for credit.
