I'm not that familiar with Russian Ammunition, but what I've heard about the Wolf and it's steel cases, with the laquer coating, I'll continue to do business with the people I have known best over the years in providing me with all my ammunition needs. Outside of my regular suppliers, I have tried the 38 super from Aquila of Mexico, I.M.I. with some .45 ACP ( My regular supplier is much better), and most brands from American ammunition companies. The only thing good about the Wolf ammo, that I've heard or read, is it's cheap price; I have yet to see the first test on a handgun's accuracy where they included Wolf ammunition. I really do not care for the aluminum cases of the CCI Blazer; I tried it once in a 44 magnum and had a difficult time ejecting the spent cases. Seems Brass cases works the best in my pistols and revolvers, if loaded right. To each his own though. Welcome to the forum Adam.

I won't use Wolf or the CCI Blazer. Why would you put that stuff in a pistol you take pride in? I care too much about the pistols I plan to keep to put that stuff in them! The Winchester white box is cheap enough for me...

I am using Winchester White Box and Remington UMC for range ammo in my .40 cal and 9 mm XD's. The price is fairly reasonable and the performance is good.
However, now that I am getting used to the guns, I need to get some higher grade ammo to see if there is a discernible difference in performance and clean-up.

It is kind of like buying a paintbrush. If you buy cheap paint, buy a cheap brush; if you buy good paint, buy a good bruch.
If I bought a Hi-Point, I would be tempted to buy the cheaper ammo, but in my H&K - no way.
Also, in my VW car, which will be a 18 years old in a few months, I use Chevron premium (car has performance engine) I could buy cheaper gas, but then I'd have to deal with carbon buildup on the valves and fuel injectors. I'd rather not have to deal with that. So, with ammo saving a few dollars and then having to deal with problems it can create - no thanks.
FYI Chevron adds Techron to their gas, which years ago was the only additive that BMW recommended. So if it is good for the BMW's it is good for my VW. I digress.

A poll over at ar15.com ammo forum is showing that most users of the new polymer coated cases are not having any problems with Wolf in their ARs and M4gerys.
The old lacquer coated stuff is kind of messy. I used 300+ rounds in a Glock and it took twice as long to clean, though no failures happened.

I've not tried it. I have read, and heard much more negative than positive for me to consider using it. WWB and UMC work fine for me for bargain ammo.

The one time I tried wolf, it wouldn't feed through in my mags. I'll admit that all my mags are CDNN specials but steel cased ammo is the only thing I've had problems with. I'm sure that it's because the brass cases are "slipperier" than the lacquered cases.
Since the Wal Mart Winchester is so inexpensive, why bother with anything else for range work? The biggest problem with the white box is catching your local wal-mart with any stock.

I have heard that the "new" WOlf ammo is not laquer-coated like the old sh-, er..."stuff" but when I've used it in a few of my guns, I've had few problems. My SKS has digested any and all manner of ammo I can put through it, as has my CZ-75. My 1911 is a bit more tempermental (no worries, guys, its an Armscor - I'd not put that green Commie ammo in a true-blue American 1911! ;D) and has had some cases where the slide would not travel all the way forward and lock up the barrel. This was usually when the barrel was getting hot after shooting several dozen rounds already.
I have noticed, however, that Wolf seems very, very dirty. When using Winchester white box in my CZ-75, it cleaned up fairly easily, but Wolf reidue took a bit more effort and solvent.
