Has any one had any expeirence with Extreme Shock Ammo? I am wondering it is a good as they says it is. www.extremeshockusa.com/ I like the idea of the fang face but I would not like to test it out on a boar or hog. Is there any way to do testing like that our selfs? Just to compare the damage to a regular hollow point. I was thinking about duct taping a watermellon and then shooting it. I think the duct tape would hold it together till I cut it apart.

I imagine you could order ballistic gellatin mix. That stuff (10% as I recall) is as close to a standard as you will find I imagine.

Lukie - I once shot a single 9mm Extreme Shlock round at an agitated Cape Buffalo in my backyard. It took the beast down immediately. Our subdivision feasted on Cape Buffalo for a week. The bullet did not stop in the bufallo however, it deflected upwards and hit a Ninja hiding in the foliage of the oak tree overhead. Lucky I happened to have my 23 round Glock 17 magazine full of Extreme Shlock ammo that day. I stay away from boutique ammo. My preference is FMJ or GA HP ammo that I can practice with every day. If you can afford to practice with Extreme Shock then by all means do.

That was the funniest d**n thing I read in a long time. Thanks 9MM. I do agree about the cost of it. They are way high but if it does what it says it is suppose to the it would be well worth it.

If you do a web search of Extreme Shock ammo, you get lots of opinions and a few actual tests of it. At best, it seems to perform like Glazer ammo. It has a wide wound channel with poor penetration (~7" ). It is difficult to find positive reviews of it from anyone except the manufacturer's own advertising team.

I agree. But at $7 for 5 rounds... I spent $35 running as fast as I could towards and shooting at steel plates this weekend at a range I'm a member at. I was shooting crummy $3/50 Wolf out of my Glock. You actually do get better with practice. At the end, standing still I could hit a 12" steel plate reliably from 25 yards away standing still with Wolf. That is good for a loose tolerance pistol with cheap ammo.
